Rumor: Colm Feore to Play Adrian Toomes in The Amazing Spider-Man 2

There has been some fear among fans that Marc Webb is overloading The Amazing Spider-Man 2 with villains. There’s Electro and Rhino for sure, plus Norman Osborn who at any point may morph into his Green Goblin alter-ego. Then there’s Colm Feore’s mystery character who still hadn’t been named…until today.

The folks over at Comic Book Movie claim to have confirmed what many have expected from the start: Feore will be playing Adrian Toomes aka The Vulture. Not only is his character confirmed, but there’s also word that he’ll be teaming up with Electro, Rhino, and the Green Goblin to make up the first four members of the Sinister Six.

The other two members of Webb’s iteration of the Sinister Six are still unknown, but the Lizard is still in the picture. Assuming he does indeed come back, and Webb continues pulling from the Ultimate universe, we could see Sandman, Doc Ock, or Kraven the Hunter as the last member. But that’s speculation for another day.

As Guardians of the Galaxy gets closer to beginning filming this summer in London, the cast continues to fill out with extremely impressive actors. Following the announcement that Glenn Close and Karen Gillan will star in the movie, Deadline now reveals that Savages and The Wolfman actor Benicio Del Toro has joined the cast of the James Gunn helmed movie in what they describe as, “a character that is built to be part of future Marvel films, which means he has signed a deal with options that put him into multiple movies.”

Following confirmation of Thor: The Dark World losing its composer, Carter Burwell, there are unconfirmed rumors that Marvel Studios is also unhappy with the sequel’s director, Alan Taylor. While he was apparently asked to take a vacation “until after” Thor: The Dark World is released, a Latino Review commenter seems to know exactly why.

“Taylor was apparently butting heads with Fiege over the run time and final edit,” the user Redbull Werewolf claims. “Taylor wants the film to be 2 and a half hours, Marvel says he’s contracted to give them a 2 hour film and he’s breaching his contract. He hasn’t been fired but editing has stopped for 2 weeks while both parties take some time to cool off before a mediator will be brought in middle of June. Bottom line is that the film is only 5 months from release and a decision is going to have to be made soon especially if re-shoots are required.”
